Fields of Application
Memory Cards are used as universal, flexible and reliable media to exchange data between devices and PCs.
DD-Logger is an intelligent and universal data-logger for the serial interface which uses ATA Flash Cards from 32 MB to 2 GB as storage me-dia. The device can be used wherever a data source can send ASCII data, e.g. to a protocol printer:

Machines and controls (PLC) 
Industrial vehicles with data acquisition 
Measurement devices

Flexible Use
DD-Logger does not depend on a specific communication protocol. The retrieved data are stored – irrespective of the operating system – without being changed and can be processed later on a PC.
The storage medium can be removed for data transfer or new initialization. The data can be stored either in a circular or in a linear memory mode.
In circular mode the oldest data are overwritten when the end of memory is reached. In linear mode the recording stops when the memory is exhausted.

High Data Security
Special care has been taken to achieve a high level of data security by use of a checksum mechanism.
After an interruption, e.g. caused by a power fail interrupt or PC Card change, the data recording automatically restarts.

DD-Logger Manager
The configuration of a recording and the readout of data can be done comfortably with the Windows program DD-Logger Manager 1).
DD-Logger Manager supports all basic functions as initialization of the Memory Card for recording (Init-Card) and data transfer from the Card to the PC (Read-Card).
In addition, general parameters for recording can be defined, e.g. baud rate and memory organization (linear or circular memory). These parame-ters are stored on the Memory Card and are ob-served by the DD-Logger. Also the readout format can be configured (ASCII or binary).
The data transfer can occur either via the serial interface of the DD-Logger and a PC COM port (115,200 Baud), or by using the separately available PC Card reader CSM OmniDrive. The OmniDrive can be connected to a PC via USB.
