Elan USB2.0 Read / Write unit for PCMCIA Cards

The Elan U111-M is a new USB Interface PCMCIA Card Reader for 16bit ATA Flash Cards that will enable use of PCMCIA Flash Cards in any computer equipped with a spare USB socket. Similar in design to the existing U111 / U142 but not limited to 3G Data Cards, the U111-M will enable mobile laptop users to transfer data to / from PCMCIA cards in the field without the need to return to the office to use a desk-top PC.

The U111-M supports 16-bit memory cards including SRAM, ATA and linear flash cards that support Common Flash Memory Interface (CFI). CF cards are supported with a CF/PCMCIA adapter and SD cards are supported with an SD/PCMCIA adapter. Commonly available disk utilities allow direct access to memory (CFI compliant Linear Flash). The U111-M is a USB1.1/2.0 Compliant USB Mass Storage Device natively supported by Windows, Linux and MacOSX operating systems with no addition drivers required. The card is powered from the USB slot and a second USB power connection is available for low power hosts (scavenges additional power from a second USB port). The U111-M is simple to install and has a rugged casing for maximum portability.
